PREPARE

Hi all, 
Finally on the road again.  

In this blog i will keep you updated about a 3 months trip along the west-coast of Africa, start October '23, end January '24.



I will go by an "Madventure"-truck again, just like my previous trips.

Still preparing now: 
- say goodbye to colleagues, friends and family, 
- get my vaccines, 
- prepare my house, 
- pack, and then ...

Fly to Fez, Morocco on the 25th to start the trip.

Week 5, Senegal

November, 22nd: Woke up round 7.30, a bit hung over (although i did not drink that much)... Breakfasted, showered, rinsed some cloths. Updating blog now at the reception of the campsite... Waiting for our cab to the old town ... Old town was nice, but not that spectacular. 2 nice mosques and some good photo opportunities. Had lunch in a very crowded, but cosy lunchroom ... Fish didn't agree on being eaten ... Bought myself a Senegal football shirt (Ben too)  By 3.00h we took a cab back... Dip in the sea and some relaxing at the   Last night there was a quite one for me. Was not in the mood for cardgames or beer drinking, so... went to my tent for an episode of star trek and an early night. November, 23rd: Rose at 7, breakfasted, packed our gear and on the way to Dakar  Everywhere kids waving and shouting ... After several stops we arrived in Dakar in a campsite. Truck had to be squeezed in, but ... a nice and cosy place. With some cold beers and wines we chatted away...

Week 3, West Sahara and Mauritania

 November, 8th: Rose at 6.15, took down my tent (not "broke down" as i learned from Rajshree), breakfasted, and on the road again. Tried to take some pictures of an arch-shaped rock, but it was covered in fog ... Rajshree ,  trying to peek through the fog And he had no clue ... ... and further it went. I am finally sitting next to Ben, a great fellow traveler from Gottingen, Germany. You may see him in Meppel, somewhere in the future .... Lunch (and a clean toilet!!) in the small village TanTan. And on it went. Not s very spectacular scenery, so we played cards and had a beer. Found a very rocky camp ground on the coast. It was not possible to use the pegs for your tent, so just put some heavy rocks inside the tent, to prevent it from blowing away. Some of us just slept outside (which i find a pretty good idea actually).  We had a quiz and my team came in 2nd. Good fun though. I even became a bit fanatic! ;-) Emptied the bottle rose of with Rashree and Ben and slept like ...
